Poem Publishery

For my poem, i decided to:

write it and publish it online at one of my favorite sites:

http://allpoetry.com/poem/12097740-Life-of-the-Forgotten-by-TJ-Wu#

Post it on various doors

Life of the Forgotten

Across the capacious sea
Lays a cross beneath the tree
Like a hunter losing prey
Memories of the dead drifts away

The crows of the night sang their song
The stormy evening grew ever long
A single boy lays in wait
Awaiting for hear his father's fate

The mother chucks another beer
Concealing her hidden tear
Waiting with her inner fear
Praying for her loving dear

As the moon rise in the sky
Hope and beliefs begin to dry
Preys screeched as the eagles fly
For tonight another dream dies

On a usual Saturday, i woke up and continued my casual Saturday routine of breakfast, news, homework and lunch. Yet it was those usual things that intrigued me even more when i read another militaristic family's tragic story on the news. Having a personal friend who had lost his dad to the army, i decided to make and dedicate a poem to all the families who have lost their beloved ones to war.

Considering the background and culture of UBC, I didn't think this kind of poem would be right for this community. Despite this i attempted to spread this poem by posting it door to door. At first i published this poem in my building, but to no avail or respond. Next i tried to post this poem in cafes and stores, but was rejected by the staff of various places. Finally i decided to publish this poem online in a familiar website i liked: allpoetry.com. I often visit this poetry site for inspirations and fun with its highly populated user base. Thanks to this project, i have pushed my self from a observer to a creator.
